Composites
Our high-end technology allows ICS to offer waterjet cutting services which include the processing of composite materials.
Composites include a wide range of materials but ICS works most often with graphite, carbon fiber, fiberglass, reinforced plastic, and composite foams. Since we use the latest technology, we can produce a very narrow water stream that has a low impact on composites. This low impact cutting process eliminates delamination, whiskering, and cracking.
Composites
Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP)
This fibrous composite material is extremely strong and lightweight. CFRP is often waterjet cut to be used in the aerospace industry, because of its high strength-to-weight ratio.
Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP)
This low-cost composite is made from glass fibers and is often seen in the architecture industry. This composite has a medium weight and a medium density.
G10
G10 is a high-pressure fiberglass laminate. to create this material glass cloth is stacked and soaked in epoxy resin. This material is extremely strong and is widely used as an insulator for electronic applications
Rubber
All varieties of rubber are compatible with waterjet cutting and it is used in many different industries. A material that is known for being flexible in terms of its mechanical and chemical properties.
Foam
Foam is generally highlighted for its high strength-to-weight ratio and is often used for its thermal insulation properties. Foam is most often cut using the pure waterjet cutting process.
PVC & Acrylic
PVC has high hardness and mechanical properties and good electrical insulation. ICS often waterjet cuts acrylic for aesthetic applications due to its durability and superior attractiveness.
